Susanna H. Krey is president of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland. She was instrumental in the development of the three Sisters of Charity grantmaking foundations in Cleveland, Canton and South Carolina in 1996. Susanna also serves as senior vice president at the Sisters of Charity Health System. The system includes two Catholic hospitals, two assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, three grantmaking foundations addressing root causes of poverty, and six community outreach organizations.
In her SVP role, Susanna provides leadership for hospital and health system administration in the areas of corporate communications and public relations, strategic planning and alliances, and government affairs, as well as administrative oversight of all grantmaking and community outreach organizations.
Susanna is engaged in community leadership through service on numerous boards and committees, currently including the boards of the Fund for Our Economic Future, Campus District, Cuyahoga County Partnering for Family Success Program and Applewood Centers. She serves on the Opportunity Corridor steering committee at Greater Cleveland Partnership, and the President’s Advisory Council at Enterprise Community Partners. Susanna was a member of the 2012 class of Leadership Cleveland, as well as the 2013 LC2 Leadership Cleveland alumni program.
Before entering the field of health care administration, she was a nationally recognized expert on nutrition, having worked extensively in various clinical research and administrative positions in Cleveland and Boston. She has published numerous articles and co-edited two textbooks in the nutrition field.
