Through HUD’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), the county's continuum of care will use this funding to address the unique needs of youth ages 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness in our community. 

Partners, community leaders, funders and young adults with lived expertise of homelessness broke ground today on a 50-unit apartment building that will provide supportive housing for young people ages 18-24 (transition-aged youth, or TAY) who are exiting homelessness.

Investments in 2020 went almost entirely toward helping grantees mitigate the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this new role, Black will support the foundation’s efforts to achieve better health outcomes for Central Neighborhood families as related to the social determinants of health, specifically neighborhood safety, police-community relations and social capital.

Cleveland is the fourth city in the nation to enact such a right and the first to leverage a public-private partnership to do so.

A majority of funding in first and second quarters supported response efforts to basic needs support following COVID-19, as well as sustained focus on SOCF’s core strategic areas of homelessness and Catholic sister ministry.
