On behalf of Susanna Krey, President, Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland:
We at Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland are heavyhearted to share that Joseph Black will be leaving us after eight wonderful years with our foundation and Cleveland Central Promise. He has accepted a role at the Cleveland Foundation as program manager for racial equity and racial justice initiatives, at which he will excel. We are sorry to see Joe leave but grateful for the many years he shared his talent with us.
Joe joined the SOCF family in 2014 as a coordinator for Cleveland Central Promise. His presence in the Central neighborhood helped SOCF Cleveland form connections with many of our current partners, and he has been an essential voice in elevating the dynamic and unique resources the Central community offers.
More recently, Joe took on the role of program officer for health equity at the foundation in early 2021. In the last two years, he has done incredible work to bring the community into the grantmaking process in an effort to increase transparency and equity within foundation practices.
His passion is unmatched, as we’ve seen through the years of the Reverse Ride-Along, which he developed out of a desire to strengthen police and community relationships. I believe his work at the foundation has helped all of us to think a bit differently about how we collaborate with one another and the community.
Joe’s last day at SOCF Cleveland will be Tuesday, January 17. Please join me in sending him our best wishes and congratulations for this new journey.
